IVORY TOWERS
at The Playhouse Theatre

Ivory Towers Programme

On Friday 6th October 2006 I went to the Playhouse Theatre in Cheltenham to see the much anticipated new play written by a former colleague and good friend BILL CRONSHAW.

written by BILL CRONSHAW

DIRECTOR - SHEILA MANDER
LIGHTING DESIGNER - ALEX LEWER
STAGE DESIGNER - ADAM ELLIOTT
PRODUCTION MANAGER - IAIN BARTON

STUDENT UNION REPS -
DANIELLE LADE
STEVE ROBERTS
BEN CLARK

The play was set in the ficticious University of Tirton and tells the story of how one Mature Student copes with registration, Academia, Falling in love with one of the tutors and saving the Student Services Department. Although the University was fictional I could see an uncanny resemblance to another University not so far away.

THE CAST

NEIL THOMAS - BILL CRONSHAW
HELEN JAMES - ALEXANDRA CHELL
STEPHANIE REVELL - JILLY BREEZE
JANE MOSS - ROSEANNE BRIAN

I found the play very funny especially as I recognised many of the situations and characters (some of which were unintentional).

I say the play was anticipated because there had been a spoof website for about 4 months before the play.
